Vertical Cantilever Pumps
Hayward Gordon’s vertical cantilever pumps offer the advantages of exceptionally low maintenance and robust operation on the most demanding services.
The cantilever design completely eliminates the need for submerged bearings, seals, or check valves and the maintenance and problems associated with these additional components.
This design also allows the pump to run dry without damage and is self-priming once the liquid level is above the volute.
Benefits
Both drive options are available to ensure that special operating conditions or low headroom requirements are met.
Impeller clearance can be externally adjusted via jacking screws in the thrust bearing housing.
- The Torus recessed impeller design handles large solids and highly abrasive slurries.
- The ANSI wet end handles clean fluids and offers high pump efficiencies.
- The ChopX wet end is designed for combined chopping and pumping for solid size reduction.
Shafts are sized to operate below the first lateral critical speed to ensure longevity with shaft diameters up to 7”. Other manufacturers will operate their pumps above first critical requiring the pump to operate through this region on start-up and shut-down.
Labyrinth seals are used instead of rubber lip seals to eliminate the maintenance of the grease sealing device. Lip seal can groove the pump shaft causing grease leakage.
