Over the years, we have found that washdown sump can be a particularly difficult application. While the intended and expected material in the pit can be difficult enough to pump (large or abrasive solids and stringy materials), it is amazing the other material that can wind up in the sump and it is the pump's job to ensure it is removed.
The workhorse for this service is our Torus recessed impeller pump, it is the ultimate in non-clog designs. In addition, the pump is designed to handle abrasives, like grit, which often enters sumps.
